Invisible braces, also known as clear aligners, are custom-made transparent covers worn over the teeth. The advantage is that they can be removed to make eating and brushing easier.

All about clear aligners
During treatment with clear aligners, a personalised treatment plan is created. Based on this plan, the number of aligners needed to achieve the result is calculated. You wear each aligner for seven to 10 days, until you change to a new one. Depending on your plan, you will be given four to six aligners per visit.
The procedure
Treatment with clear aligners starts with a thorough consultation, where the dentist assesses your teeth and creates a personalised treatment plan. Digital scans, X-rays and colour photographs are used to create custom-made aligners that gradually shift your teeth into the desired position.

During the treatment, you will wear your custom-made transparent aligners as much as possible. The more you wear them, the faster you will see results. To get ideal results, wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day.

The cost of clear aligners (also known as transparent braces) usually ranges between EUR 1,500 to around EUR 4,000. This depends on the extent of the treatment. At etiq, we make an estimate prior to treatment so that you know in advance where you stand.
Invisible braces (or actually transparent braces) are covered by insurance if you have purchased orthodontics insurance.
With transparent braces, we make appointments to suit your treatment plan. This is usually an interval of 4 to 6 weeks.
Transparent braces should be worn at least 22 hours a day so that the braces have time to move the teeth. If the braces are not worn long enough, the braces do not work as well. As a result, the desired end result is not achieved.
Teeth remain straight after the removal of transparent braces for as long as night braces are worn. The teeth are displaced by the braces and may start to return to their former position shortly after the braces are removed. It is therefore very important to (continue to) wear the night braces.
With clear braces, you can eat anything. While eating, the transparent braces (clear aligners) should be taken off briefly and after eating, it is recommended to brush your teeth briefly.
