Repair with porcelain
Porcelain or ceramic
When treating a cavity, wear, fracture or replacing an existing filling, porcelain (also known as ceramic) is the best and most beautiful material to restore the tooth with. When a tooth is missing, a porcelain bridge can also be made as an alternative to an implant.
Advantages of porcelain
1. Longer lifespan
Porcelain is very durable and more resistant to wear, making it an excellent choice for restorations that are long-lasting and more resistant to discolouration.
2. Prettier result
Porcelain fillings offer aesthetic benefits due to the natural appearance of the material and individual colour matching to the surrounding teeth.
3. Better resistant
Porcelain generally does not react or react less to food or drinks by changing colour, helping to maintain aesthetics throughout its lifetime.
4. High-end development
Due to technological advances, materials show improved properties, such as stronger adhesion to tooth structures and improved fracture resistance.
A brilliant smile that suits you

All about porcelain fillings
A major difference between a composite filling and a porcelain filling or crown is that porcelain is manufactured outside your mouth. Each restoration is carefully matched to the colour and shape of your natural teeth, resulting in a seamless fit and a natural-looking smile.

The procedure
High-quality service with a smile
It starts with a thorough diagnosis and a treatment plan that suits your specific needs. A 3D scan or impression is then taken of the prepared tooth. This scan or impression serves as the basis for customising the porcelain filling or crown, which is carefully adapted to the colour and shape of your teeth.
Painless and effective
The procedure is painless thanks to local anaesthesia. During the treatment, the damaged tooth tissue is removed to then reconstruct the tooth with a custom-made porcelain filling (inlay, onlay or crown). With porcelain fillings, you not only enjoy lasting protection but also an aesthetically pleasing result. Due to the perfect design and hand finishing, our restoration approximates the tooth as it should be originally. This is also very beneficial for the function of the teeth.

Frequently asked questions
Porcelain is the most beautiful and best material for restoring teeth. Etiq dentists will be happy to help you make a good choice for restoring your teeth. On the right, we have placed some frequently asked questions with answers. Is your question not here? Please let us know!
When treating a cavity, wear, fracture or replacing an existing filling, porcelain is the best and most beautiful material to restore the tooth with. A "restoration" in which the nodules are still intact is called an inlay. If the molars are missing, we call it an onlay. If the restoration covers the entire tooth, we call it a crown. The difference with a filling is that the restoration is not made directly in the mouth, like a composite filling. With an inlay, onlay or crown, a scan or an impression is taken of the impacted tooth and the restoration is manufactured by a high-end laboratory. The restoration is then bonded to the tooth in a second session. We very consciously choose not to mill the crown ourselves in the practice and place it the same day, as our method produces the best and most beautiful results.
The cost of a crown varies. Dental costs are the same at every dentist, but engineering costs can vary. For example, a front tooth with us is more expensive than a molar in the back because a crown on a front tooth is individually shaped and coloured. So the end result is always predictable and indistinguishable from the real thing. During a consultation or intake, we always offer you a tailor-made treatment plan with a budget. We inform you about the pros and cons and what the alternatives are. This way, you can always make a good decision.
Fillings or restorations made of porcelain are indistinguishable from real ones and are highly wear-resistant. The shape and colour are adjusted manually at etiq, so that not only does it look beautiful, but also its function is restored in the best possible way.
The disadvantages of fillings made of porcelain are the fact that an additional session is needed to place the filling, crown or bridge made of porcelain and that the cost is higher than fillings made of composite. There are techniques in which the porcelain restoration is placed on the same day, but unfortunately this does not yet have the high-end quality desired for us.
The best dental filling is made of porcelain, or ceramic. Porcelain is by far the best and most beautiful material for restoring teeth. It lasts longer than composite and also lasts longer. Amalgam (grey fillings) have not been used as a filling material for a long time, because it is not attractive and because, among other things, it contains mercury, making it potentially harmful to health.
